the WINTER SCHOOL March1 st 2008 classs has been POSTPONED and rescheduled
to March 8th in Minden.

We hope to begin our Winter driving courses in early January. Our driving exercises are done on real ice and snow that requires the right kind of weather to build it. We usually try for the first weekend in January and to run each weekend (except Jan 26/27) until the ice melts (mid March hopefully). The 2008 Schedule will be posted soon

WHY ADVANCED DRIVER TRAINING?
What we learn in order to obtain our drivers’ licence is the bare minimum to pass the test. In reality, this is the equivalent to a Grade 8 level of education. You wouldn’t want your doctor to operate on you or your family members with that limited skill level, so why are you content to drive on our overcrowded roads with such a low degree of ability.
This training is for ALLdrivers regardless of age or experience. Even more mature drivers need a higher level of driver education and help to identify and rectify years of bad driving habits. We will take you to the College level of driver training.
Each year over 42,000 people die on North American roads. The fact that 95% of all collisions are avoidable suggests that over 40,000 needless deaths occurred on our roads. If that death rate occurred in the airline industry, which equates to approximately four major plane crashes each week in North America, no one would want to fly and the government would close down the airline companies.
If you wouldn’t fly with that fatality rate, why are you driving on our roads? Is it OK to die on the highways but not in a plane crash?
Advanced Driver Training, such as what we offer at our ILR Car Control Schools, will give you the knowledge and skills to help you advance yourself out of the 95% group and equip you to drive with the expertise to avoid and prevent crashes with our exclusive “Pro-Active Driving” techniques.

Exotic Car Charity Ride Event
June 22 2008
Location: Powerade Centre in Brampton
We are organizing an Exotic Car Charity ride on Sunday, June 22nd
at the Powerade Centre in Brampton. The fund we have chosen to support
is the James Fund which is part of Sick Kids Hospital. In the past
we have raised over $5,000 for this foundation as well as the Children's
Wish Foundation.
This day is to give the general public a chance to ride in an exotic
car for a donation ($20) to the James Fund. They also receive a
photo of themselves on a CD sitting in the exotic car. Many people
will never get a chance at riding in one of these fine machines
and they are very happy donating to a worthwhile cause to have a
spin in a Ferrari, Viper, Maseratti or Lotus to name a few. We have
professional photographers on hand to take several quality shots
of the cars and riders. The event features a "fun" autoslalom
course set up in the large and safe parking lot of the Powerade
Centre.
It's been a couple of months since I attended your Saturday Car Control School session here in Brampton on April 29th. I have been meaning to send you a note since then, so I have finally had some time to catch up on my correspondence.
I would like to thank you for sharing such valuable information about driving techniques and vehicle safety during the Car Control School. The classroom sessions were invaluable in reviewing basic driver knowledge and safety. Every day as I navigate my way through Toronto's busy traffic, at least one or two things that you mentioned come to my mind. The practical driving program was not only a great deal of fun but was also a real eye-opener in terms of teaching me how far I can push my car and how much both the vehicle and I can handle in avoiding dangerous situations. I believe that I have become a much safer driver because I am constantly looking further down the road to observe upcoming conditions and practicing accident avoidance. Even today, a minor accident happened just in front of me and I was able to avoid a subsequent collision and move past it without problem.
Your Car Control School offers an excellent learning program and should be required for every driver on the road. I heartily endorse your program and wish you the best of luck with your future endeavours.
